Letter From Our President

Here we are in a new year, 2008, the 18th year of Feed-Point. Hope it is a good year for everyone. This is one of those winters when nice snow is getting ruined by rain. The base is very solid now, meaning slow spring melt.

On December 21st I went to see WB1FTK and KA1SJV. I noticed the huge, long piles of snow along the west side of Flat Mountain Rd, and even saw one being built. Spectacular drift breaks and I didn't have my camera. WB1FTK said he would take a photo for me. It is a wonderful photo and I sent it around the world to hams who don't have snow. They were impressed. I will try to insert the photo into Feed-Point so you can see WB1FTK's work. Thanks, Don.

No one made any comment about Bill Cobb's plan to repair the Rocky Mountain tower building this summer. I asked for feedback and got none. If we want this done for us, we must respond to him. Please reread his e-mail in the December Feed-Point and send me your ideas.

Happy Birthday
Elimination of CW Requirement The ARRL VEC notes that dropping CW for licensing caused almost a doubling of tests, with the highest increase in upgrading. They say all of the VEs, collectively and individually, should be proud of how we coped with the great increase.
